Enquiry terms

Your enquiry, quotation and visit
Sending an enquiry is free. It does not place a paid order, reserve a time or confirm a visit. I review each car or van, the requested work and the actual work address before deciding whether I can help. A preferred day is a request only.
If I send a quotation, check its work, parts, total price, expiry and terms before responding. A new online quotation may ask you to order with an obligation to pay if I confirm the agreed scope, price and appointment in writing. Your response alone does not confirm the visit. The contract is made when I give that written confirmation. Any change to the scope or price needs fresh agreement.
Published prices are starting prices for the scope described. Auto Sowa Ltd is not VAT registered; no VAT is added. The diagnostic call-out includes the advertised basic diagnostic time and a diagnostic-computer connection where appropriate; it does not guarantee that every fault can be identified or repaired during that time. I agree any further time, parts or work with you before continuing. Travel is included within the quoted diagnostic band. Locations outside my usual area need individual approval and a quote.
Attendance is included in an agreed repair price, without an extra diagnostic call-out for that visit. A separate diagnostic visit remains a separate charge and is not deducted from a later repair. Cash or card is payable on completion. This form takes no payment or booking deposit.
Customer-supplied parts need my approval. Incorrect, missing or unsuitable parts may prevent completion. A previously explained and agreed attendance or work charge may still be due, but only to the extent fair and legally payable for the circumstances and work undertaken. This does not remove your rights concerning my workmanship. Please give the full work address and tell me about parking, access or safety restrictions before the visit is agreed.
Cancellation, changes and consumer rights
Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change a visit. I ask for 48 hours’ notice where possible. This is a request for notice, not an automatic cancellation fee, and does not shorten your statutory cancellation rights. No booking deposit applies to this enquiry service.
For a qualifying distance or off-premises service contract, you can normally cancel within 14 days after the contract is made. A contract that includes supplied parts may instead be a sales contract with a cancellation period ending 14 days after you receive the goods. Before you request the work, the particular quotation or agreement must explain the applicable cancellation rights, any lawful exception, return arrangements and any return cost you would have to pay. A quote expiry is not a cancellation deadline.
To start a service during an applicable cancellation period, I need your express request; for an off-premises contract, that request must be on a durable medium, such as a retained email or message. If you then cancel, a proportionate charge for work supplied is due only where the legal conditions and prior information requirements are met. The right to cancel a fully performed service is lost only after the required prior request and acknowledgement. The enquiry checkbox is neither an early-start request nor a waiver. An urgent-repair exception applies only to genuinely urgent work you specifically requested and the necessary replacement parts, not automatically to additional work or goods.
To cancel, tell me clearly by email, post, WhatsApp, text message or telephone using the contact details below. You do not have to use a form. Optional wording: “To Auto Sowa Ltd trading as Mobile Mechanic MK: I cancel my contract for [service/goods]. Ordered on [date]; received on [date, if applicable]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Date: [date]. Signature: [only for a paper form].” Please keep a record. Refunds and any goods return follow the applicable statutory rules; faulty goods and services retain their separate remedies.
I will carry out services with reasonable care and skill. Parts I supply must meet the applicable legal standards. Your statutory rights are unaffected, and nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. For a concern or complaint, contact me with the job reference and what happened so I can investigate and explain the proposed resolution. I am not currently a member of a consumer ADR scheme. Any applicable ADR or other dispute-resolution arrangement will be explained when I communicate the outcome of a complaint.
